We have entered the age of Industry 4.0 and Web 3.0. This course explores the current and potential future impacts of new, emerging, and rapidly evolving technologies (Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Cloud Computing and Data Analytics) on organisations and their operations. Learners will gain insights into these technologies and how organisations are coping (or not) with the resulting disruption.

In addition to tools and best practices, the course examines the challenges and opportunities in designing projects that implement new and emerging technologies.

Other topics in this ABCD course (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing and Data Analytics) include managing change in organisations because of disruption, the benefits, and challenges of adapting new technologies, and legal and privacy issues.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand how to harness the power of disruptive technologies by improving business processes and increasing business value
  • Identify major areas where technologies can be applied and their implications for organisational change
  • Recognise the challenges of implementing disruptive technologies at the workplace and how to overcome them. 

The course is pitched at business owners or executivelevel individuals with a need to have an appreciation of digital transformation and the challenges of its implementation.

Learners are guided with a combination of lecture, case examples, hands-on activities in this workshop.

A Capability Developer with over 10 years of experience in human capital development, David was successful in a competitive selection for IAL’s 2018 Study Trip to Germany where he picked up the finer points of Industry 4.0 & digital transformation implementation. He had also been to Alibaba Campus, Hangzhou to deepen his knowledge of E-commerce.

David has extensive experience in facilitation & public speaking that draws from his vast experiences in banking, public sector, healthcare & tertiary education. He combines the needed knowledge with audience’s concerns, interests, and daily needs, to enhance retention.

David had made presentations to an audience in different settings such as corporates, conferences, public libraries, public forums, community organisations etc. with audience size ranging from 10 to 500.

Being bilingual, David had presented in Mandarin & English in areas such as Digitalisation, Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Business Performance, Blended Learning, Active Ageing &
Personal Wellness since 2011.

Besides public speaking & facilitation, David also coaches on workplace collaboration & empower the reskilling, upskilling of the corporate workforce in initiatives such as the Professional Conversion Programme & SG United Programme.

Other than his Computer Science degree, David has other tertiary credentials/professional certifications in the areas of Accountancy (ACCA), Counselling, Design Thinking, Data Analytics, AI, Social Media Management, Investment, Health Promotion, Training and Assessment.

David loves to read, eat, meet people & tries to find 28 hours daily to achieve them.
