This workshop reviews the elements of writing clear and concise reports, ensuring you save your readers’ time and project a professional image of your organization. The key skills of developing a systematic planning approach, to presenting your content in a persuasive and reader-friendly way will be covered in this one-day workshop.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Write reports that are structured and suitable to the varied intended readership
- Develop an awareness of the main features of reports and use appropriate language for the intended reader and purpose
- Apply the principles of effective writing to their reports in order to produce clear, concise and effective documents
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for Executives and Managers as well as those who needs to write formal or informal reports.
Methodology
Learners are guided through the topic with a combination of group work (writing exercises), pair work (discussions and written exercises), whole group discussions and individual feedback based on own samples (if given).
Learners can bring along your own written report samples (please replace confidential information with fake information).

Our Dedicated Trainer - Ms. Emma Jarman-Jones
Emma has worked as an external consultant and trainer with both private and public sectors, designing, customising and delivering programs, and coaching individuals. This work includes writing, speaking, interpersonal and management skills training. She has over 20 years experience training in Singapore, as well as regionally in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. She believes in the potential of every person and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of training that will benefit the individual, as well as the organisation.
Emma holds an MBA from Imperial College, London and a Diploma in Human Resource Development from the Singapore Institute of Management. She is also a certified Equine Learning Practitioner from the Equine Psychotherapy Institute Australia and more recently attended practitioner training in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) at Bangor University, UK.
